ASHG "Teen Genes" Video Competition
As part of the American Society for Human Genetics' (ASHG) second annual "TeenGenes" video competition, each group of three students on my team produced a 3-5 minute video regarding a topic related to genetics. This would be done in accordance with our system that we were assigned to present to the class about, and could go more in-depth about a specific aspect within that system. Because my group was completing work related to the digestive system, we chose to focus on Celiac Disease for our video. I was responsible for creating the storyboard, script, and I also filmed the video. My partners took ownership over the displayed interview, the editing process, and the narration. All in all, I was very pleased with the final product, despite some initial setbacks that my group had with the research process. We should be in good shape for the $1,500 contest grand prize, and I cannot wait to see what results from all of the time and effort we invested into our video!
