The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year
For our Exhibition project in Writing Seminar, we were to put on a performance relating to a murder mystery, which was inspired by And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. We were split off into groups of 4-5 students, and had to come up with a script idea to be performed for our Exhibition. Once a democratic voting process took place, we had a final script to work on, and we edited it to perfection. Once the script was done, the students were assigned roles as actors or directors or producers or whichever job they signed up for, leaving us with a full cast for the final night. Although my script did not get chosen, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the other play develop into a masterpiece of sorts, and I was really happy with all of the effort my class put into our play. Below, you will find the script that my group originally came up with, and you will also find some more pieces that were beneficial to my success as both a writer and a co-director of the play, "The Smiler."
Now that this project is over, I can say that the HOHAM I used to my advantage during this project was self-advocacy, because I put myself in a position to succeed with a play that was not mine.
