To your left, you will find the video my partner and I created as part of a progression activity for Spanish. These videos are periodical in order to monitor the growth we have made in Spanish fluency over the course of the semester. The clip that my partner and I took part in was based on the fifteen questions we have learned thus far, which you will find below the video.
The biggest challenge regarding the video was taking a successful cut in one take. On the first day that we filmed, it was difficult to move through all fifteen questions without messing up. It required a lot of patience and perseverance to be successful with the video, but I was proud of the final product we put out. Another issue I faced was the collaboration aspect with my partner(s). I was initially in a group of three to film, but it was difficult to spread the questions and answers around. However, when my table mate came back to class on the next day, it was easier to communicate. My partner and I were able to rally and execute in just five attempts, which was pretty unexpected going into the exercise. I was actually expecting to struggle more with the time crunch, but I was pleasantly surprised. In the future, I will continue to practice Spanish through both old and new techniques. My main source that I have been using is Quizlet. Quizlet allows me to type in the questions and answers I have been learning in class, and then the program tests me on my knowledge through virtual flashcards, pre-made quizzes, games, and memorization activities. Also, one of the advantages of being a triplet is that I have two "peers" to practice with at home. Ryan, Hannah and I are all in different classes, but we are learning the same content. This is especially helpful when gearing up for an assessment, and I'm glad I a mini study group of my own outside of school. Besides practicing methods, I like to write down the questions and answers without looking at the information. This helps me to remember how to use certain punctuation and accents in Spanish. Our biweekly quizzes are written tests, so practicing how the content looks on paper is a great way to prepare for those. Above all, I have made sure that I am attentive in class so that I do not miss anything when it comes time to be assessed. |
