Avida Lab 1
For this particular lab, we were to investigate and explore technology developed by Michigan State University that enabled users to interact with digital organisms. After reading an article related to Darwin theories and the development of this program, we completed two labs related to the software. The first lab (the one highlighted on this page) was relevant to the concept of random mutation by genetic variation, and how the process of mutation within the DNA could be effectively analyzed using diagrams, data, and tools for visualization. Below, you will find the procedure for the lab along with my observations, and some screenshots from the activity.
